Step-by-Step on the Floor

Batch Log walks operators through the full job → batch → operation → phase → step hierarchy, enforcing sequence and capturing every action in real time.

Readings Pulled Automatically

The ControlPointProcessor thread queries the SCADA historian continuously and writes instrument readings directly to the batch record — no manual transcription required.

Lot, Tank, and Actuals Captured

Each ingredient addition records the source tank, lot number, and actual quantity drawn — compared against the recipe target so operators see variance in the moment.

Every Output Lot Fully Traceable

Batch completion locks a complete lot genealogy record — every output lot traces back to every raw material lot consumed, satisfying GMP audit requirements without paper.

What It Does

BATCH turns an active recipe into a live shop-floor job that enforces execution sequence, captures actuals against the recipe target, and writes a permanent batch record without manual transcription. When a job closes, inventory updates, quality results are linked, and the complete lot genealogy is already built.

Enforced Execution Hierarchy

Operators work through a five-level hierarchy — job, batch, operation, phase, step. Steps cannot be skipped or executed out of sequence; the system enforces the process definition at every level. The batch record reflects what the plant actually did, not what someone remembered to write down after the shift.

SCADA-Integrated Control Points

The ControlPointProcessor queries the SCADA historian continuously and writes instrument readings directly to the batch record as the batch proceeds, eliminating transcription. Ingredient actuals are compared to recipe targets at entry — discrepancies surface in the moment rather than during post-shift review.

Automatic Lot Genealogy

At job completion, every output lot links to every raw material lot consumed. The genealogy builds automatically — no reconstruction from labels or memory for quality investigations. QC samples taken during the job are linked to the batch context and visible in QCM for analysts reviewing results.

Platform Closeout

Tank Inventory, OEE metrics, and the Shift Leader Dashboard all update at job completion. Completed batch records move to the archive schema on a rolling basis, keeping the operational database fast without losing the permanent audit trail GMP compliance and customer investigations require.
